Thanks to all our patients who have supported this practice over the years. We are now happy to announce that the online booking service is up and running. Yellow Fever Vaccination
Nunawading Clinic is an Accredited Yellow Fever Vaccination Clinic for travellers to Central / South America & Africa. Some private health insurance companies will partially cover the cost of your overseas vaccinations so we do encourage you to get in touch with them. Our doctors will be able to advise you about the appropriate vaccinations required for your upcoming trip.
Nunawading Clinic & Vermont Health Care have had a long history of teaching registrars over the years and a number have stayed on after completion as part of our current team. We provide a full spectrum of General Practice work from Home visits, Workforce medicals, Nursing Home visits in addition to our comprehensive in-house General practice services. We have interviewed many excellent candidates this year and have reached our quota of registrars for 2017. We are happy for registrar applicants to contact us however for an interview for 2018 positions. We have four Level 1 Accredited Supervisors in our clinics and a few of them are also involved as Fellowship Examiners for the RACGP.
We would love to have a chat and help you explore your options in General Practice. If this has piqued your interest, please feel free to forward your CV or alternatively, contact the clinic to speak with a Supervisor (Dr Terence Heng and Dr Christine Lin).
GP's who have achieved their vocational registration are also welcome to apply for a position as well.
Spring is here!
The days are now getting warmer and longer. Unfortunately, Spring brings with it increased pollen and this might be a burden for hayfever sufferers. Typical symptoms include itchy/watery eyes, sneezing/ runny nose and some people who have asthma may notice they have trouble with it as well.
Please feel free to make an appointment with our doctors to discuss the treatment of hayfever and asthma as there are many options available. Our clinic is busier than ever and we realise it might be difficult to get an appointment on the day but we will always try our best to fit you in if you think your concerns are urgent and need to be addressed.
Vermont Urgent Care
The Footy season is almost over and we feel honoured to be part of their treating team for injured players. We wish all our players a speedy recovery and a safe return to sport.
Our urgent care / injury service on Saturday and Sunday afternoons for sports related injuries has been a popular alternative to the local Emergency departments as most other GP clinics are closed. Feedback has been positive about the short waiting times and in depth service we are able to provide. All patients are welcome to attend and you do not have to be a patient of our clinics as we will always work together with your regular GP. Where necessary, our doctors will be able to organise for X-rays to help determine if there is a fracture or dislocation. We also work closely with various orthopaedic surgeons should the need arise.
We are pleased to say that since opening this service in March 2015, the local community has made up the majority of our patients who were not able to see their own GP, which further highlights the need for comprehensive General Practice care on the weekends.
Bulk Billing for consultations is available for children under 16 years. Full-time students under 25 with a valid Student Card are charged a reduced fee. Before 5pm, bulk billing is also available to pensioners and some concession card holders. On weekends and public holidays, bulk billing is available only for pensioners and children. To maintain our high standard of care in light of the medicare rebate freeze, there will be a procedural fee for all patients should they be required eg: plaster application for fractures, suturing, skin excisions etc. Please speak to our receptionists if you require further information.
